Dear Citizens and Visitors,
As Beaufort County Assessor, it is my pleasure to offer you my assistance and share with you the latest available real property information. It is my hope that you will find this site valuable and easy to navigate. My staff and I are always open to suggestions and ideas for enhancements to our web page.
The 2009 Beaufort County reassessment program is complete and mailing of the notices of classification, appraisal and assessment to taxpayers is in September. As is often the case, the 2009 reassessment presents additional challenges to my staff in handling appeals while, at the same time, we must meet all other statutory deadlines for maintaining the real property records of Beaufort County. I ask that all participants, taxpayers and agents in the reassessment process work closely with my office so we can expeditiously complete the appeal process in a timely manner.
In closing, I am pleased to inform you that my office participated with the Beaufort County Auditor, GIS and Treasurer divisions in the conversion from a 29-year-old computer program to new, state-of-the-art software. This multi-year endeavor had many bumps in the road; however, we are now in production and moving in the direction to better serve the citizens and visitors of Beaufort County with this new technology.
