DEPUTY CLERK OF PROBATE COURT:  Performs specialized duties in all areas of Court’s jurisdiction:  decedents’ estates and trusts, guardianships and conservatorships, mental health/chemical commitments, and marriage licenses.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in related field and one year of pertinent experience; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge and skills for this position
  • Law office, paralegal, or judicial experience helpful. 
  • Ability to work well with others; good communication skills required along with computer, typing and bookkeeping 
  • Must be able to conceptualize and work independently and as a team player
  • Good judgment and analytical skills essential in order to assist judges as executive aide
  • Serves at the pleasure of the elected official

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN - Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic: Responsible for responding to emergency calls and providing efficient and immediate care to the ill and injured.  Will also provide care to patients at the scene and during transport to a medical facility.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • EMT Basic, Intermediate & Paramedic: High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license; Ability to work in inclement weather conditions;
  • EMT Basic:  Must have successfully completed the required basic EMT Basic course and be state certified.  Also requires CPR certification (Basic Life Support).
  • EMT Intermediate:  Must have successfully completed the EMT Intermediate course, be state certified and have one year of related experience; national registration preferred. Also requires CPR certification (Basic Life Support) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS).
  • EMT Paramedic: Must have successfully completed the EMT Paramedic course, be state certified and have one year of related experience; national registration preferred. Also requires CPR certification (Basic Life Support) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS).

                          EMT/Intermediate: $11.72 hr.

                          EMT/Paramedic: $13.16 hr.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I (Roads & Drainage/Southern Beaufort County): Under direct supervision performs manual or semi-skilled work within the Public Works department, which may involve general public works projects, roads and drainage projects, sign installation/maintenance projects, or other projects within the assigned department in Southern Beaufort County (Hilton Head/Bluffton area).

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Vocational/technical training in vehicle operation
  • Two (2) months experience and/or training involving public works projects, road/drainage projects, sign installation projects, equipment operation/maintenance, and manual work
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver's license
  • May require possession and maintenance of valid Work Zone Safety certification.
  • Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required

 

OPEN UNTIL 7/10/09.

SALARY: $11.44 hr.

TRAINING SPECIALIST (Disabilities & Special Needs): Assists adults with mental retardation and related disabilities in acquiring habilitative and work-related skills.  Assesses skill levels, work interests, abilities and training needs.  Develops and implements individualized training strategies for a variety of tasks to include work-related, social and self-help skills in a day program or community work environment.  

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities and special needs.  Prior experience training individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities preferred. 
  • Physically demanding work - requires the ability to stand for sustained periods of time and physical ability to perform two-man lifts up to 200 pounds
  • Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license with no DUI convictions within the past 5 years and a conscientious driving record due to client transporting responsibilities 
  • No convictions for criminal domestic violence or any criminal convictions for a crime of moral turpitude or crime that carries a sentence of one or more years 
  • Extensive criminal background investigation, including driving record, will be conducted on all applicants considered for this position. 
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule and varied hours
  • Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required
