In-Person Absentee for Senate District 45 Special Primary Election Open

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County will open for In-Person absentee voting for the Senate District 45 Special Primary Election beginning on Monday, August 10, 2015.

 

In-Person Absentee Voting Hours:

Beaufort Office, 15 John Galt Road, Beaufort, SC

Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4 pm

Monday, August 31, 2015    9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Beaufort ONLY)

 

 

Bluffton Office, 61-B Ulmer Road, Bluffton, SC

Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Senate District 45 Special Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.  The polls will be open for voting 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.  If a run-off election is required, the run-off election would be held two weeks after the primary on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.

 

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County Board of Canvassers will meet on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:00 am to certify the Beaufort County results.  The canvass hearing will be held at the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County office located at 15 John Galt Road, Beaufort, SC  29906.  The canvass hearing is open to the public.

 

When a voter presents himself to vote, the voter is required to present one of the following forms of current and valid photo identification: S.C. driver’s license, S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles identification card, S.C. Voter Registration card with photo, U.S. Passport, or Federal Military identification with a photo. If you do not have a valid or current photo ID, one can be obtained free at the Beaufort or Bluffton Voter Registration and Elections offices or at the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles.

Special Election for Senate District 45 Vacancy

A Special Primary is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2015 and a Special Primary Run-off (if necessary) is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2015, to fill the unexpired term of the late Senator Clementa Pinckney. The Special Election will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.

EFFECTIVE MONDAY, JULY 6, 2015 - FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2015

 

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County Satellite office operating hours has temporarily changed.

Effective Monday, July 6, 2015, the Bluffton Office will open Monday to Friday, 9 am – 1 pm and 2 pm – 4 pm. The office will remain open five days a week until Friday, November 20, 2015, except during County scheduled holidays.

 

After Friday, November 20, 2015, the Satellite office operating hours will return to being open Wednesdays only, 9 am – 1 pm and 2 pm – 4 pm.

Full services can still be obtained at the Beaufort office at 15 John Galt Rd., Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

New voter photo identification requirements are in effect.  Please have one of these five photo IDs ready to vote:

  • S.C. Driver's License
  • ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles
  • S.C. Voter Registration Card with Photo
  • Federal Military ID
  • U.S. Passport
