Special Collection Events
The County hosts Special Collection Events to manage special materials such as household hazardous waste, medications, shredding, and electronics. Collection events are held at either of the two Public Works sites, not at County Convenience Centers.

Shredding Secure Document Events
Shredding dates have been scheduled and will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. [or until trucks are filled]. LIMIT: Four boxes or four bags. The locations are as follows:
Beaufort County Public Works Site South, 9 Benton Field Road, Bluffton, SC 29910
Shanklin Convenience Center, 80 Shanklin Road, Beaufort, SC 29906
Any types of colors of paper, file folders, envelopes etc. are acceptable. Staples and clips do not need to be removed. Materials can be brought in any containers or bag and will be emptied into roll carts for immediate shredding. All materials will be shredded on site for as long as the trucks have capacity.
Electronics Recycling Event
Electronics Recycling events have been scheduled and all will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Beaufort County Public Works Site, 9 Benton Field Road, Bluffton, SC 29910 and Beaufort County Public Works, 140 Shanklin Road, Beaufort, SC 29906. New dates for both locations are:
Any personal computers, laptops, CRT monitors, LCD monitors, CRT televisions, printers, hard drives and miscellaneous electronics (microwaves, lamps, cell phones, radios, fax machines, typewriters, etc.) will be accepted.
