A Letter from the Clerk of Court

Dear Family Court Payee:

I am pleased to announce that direct deposit is now available to individuals who receive payments through Beaufort Family Court. If you choose, you may have your payments deposited directly into your checking or saving account instead of receiving a check in the mail.

The Clerk of Courts office is excited to provide this new service because it will not only save you the time and effort of depositing your checks at the bank, but will also eliminate the possibility of your check being delayed or lost in the mail. In addition, there is no charge for the service; it is completely free.

I have included a list of “Frequently Asked Questions” to assist you in determining whether you would like to take advantage of the direct deposit service. If you decide to participate, simply fill out the attached “Authorization for Direct Deposit” form and mail it back with a voided check or a form from your bank or credit union providing the account and routing numbers. If you have completed one in the past we are asking for you to please provide us with an updated one. Also, please send a photocopy of your driver’s license. For your convenience, we have enclosed an addressed, pre-paid envelope.

I realize that it is extremely important for you to receive your payments as quickly as possible and the Clerk of Courts office works constantly to expedite this process. This new direct deposit service gives us the opportunity to serve you better by placing money in your account in the fastest most secure way.

Sincerely,

Jerri Ann Roseneau

Beaufort County Clerk of Court
