FISCAL TECHNICIAN III (Treasurer’s Office*): Records and reports the collection of tax payments and facilitates the distribution of monies and information to outside agencies. This includes, but is not limited to , receiving, recording and posting revenues to the general ledger; initiating and managing the communication between the collection and general and general ledger software; receiving and reviewing requests for funds from agencies for disbursement ; generating and distributing various financial reports; managing and recording transfers between general ledger funds and bank accounts; and reviewing journal entries.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • College Degree
  • Six (6) years previous experience and training involving accounting, office administration, and personal computer operations to include Microsoft Office
  • Strong business communication skills
  • Experience in government or non-profit accounting preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license 

 

 This position serves at the pleasure of an elected official.

*Beaufort County has various facilities within the county, and many departments have multiple offices to serve our citizens.  Management reserves the right to transfer employees from one location to another within the county at any time based on business need.  Employees will be given as much notice as possible prior to a change in work location.
