The purpose of the Friends of the Library is to support the Hilton Head Island Public Library in developing library services, facilities and programs for the community, providing funds for purchases of books and materials and to receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests in the furtherance of the above activities.
MEMBERSHIP
The Friends of the Library offer several membership options (make checks payable to the Friends of the Hilton Head Public Library - P.O. Box 21268 Hilton Head, SC. 29925-1268):

- $29.00 per year
- Sustaining $30.00 - $99.00 per year
- Patron $100.00
and above per year
Corporate Sponsorship $250.00 and above per year

Some of the areas served by Friends include:

assisting in shelving books
-
registering for new library cards, computer use and study room use

adopt-a-shelf to keep books in correct order

checking returned materials
-
helping to direct people to appropriate location, conducting individual and group tours

assisting in Children's Department and reading to children's groups on Friday.

GIFTS TO SHARE:
Friends of the Hilton Head Library invite you to honor a friend or relative or to celebrate a special occasion through a commemorative gift to the Library. Gifts to Share may include donations for books, audiotapes, videos, children's materials or to other special funds.
Notification of your thoughtfulness will be sent to whomever you designate. A bookplate will be placed in each book.
Donations are tax-deductible. Checks should be made payable to the Friends of the Hilton Head Library.
Your gift will be shared and appreciated by all users of the Beaufort County Library System.
