You will be trained to deliver complex medical care to the critically ill and injured, building a set of invaluable skills.

We leverage state of the art equipment and provide our personnel with exceptional in-house monthly training. Beaufort County EMS personnel often work in  Field Operations, the Tactical SWAT Medics, bicycle teams, Regional Medical Assistance Team (RMAT) Operations, the Training Division, and a variety of other specialty areas.

Here at Beaufort County EMS we hire EMT's of all levels.  EMT and EMT-Intermediates are hired with the expectation that they will progress to the Paramedic level.  The minimum staffing of all ambulances is an EMT or EMT-Intermediate with a Paramedic.  We offer a competitive starting salary and an excellent benefit package.

The goal of our hiring process is to give all applicants an equal opportunity at employment while selecting the most qualified candidates.  Applications are received by the Beaufort County Employee Services Division and forwarded to our department. Applications are reviewed for completeness and minimal current certification level. It is the responsibility of the applicant to keep the Beaufort County Employee Services Division, as well as our department, advised of any changes in address or phone. If selected, testing includes a written test and/or practical test, both taken from the National Standard Curriculum at the appropriate certification level. Applicants who successfully complete the testing phase will then be scheduled for an interview.  After the testing and selection process is completed, all successful applicants are ranked by the selection committee.

The process is then reviewed for fairness by the Employee Services, with the top candidate(s) offered positions.

All new hired employees are hired on a six month probationary basis.
